Early Life and Career
Orlando Bloom was born in Canterbury, Kent, England, on January 13, 1977. His mother, Sonia Constance Josephine Copeland, was a language tutor, and his father, Colin Stone, was a social worker and adventurer. Bloom's parents divorced when he was four years old, and he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Harry Bloom, a South African writer and journalist.
Bloom attended St Peter's Methodist Primary School in Canterbury and The King's School in Canterbury. He developed an interest in acting at a young age and joined the National Youth Theatre at the age of 16. After graduating from drama school, Bloom made his professional acting debut in the play "Look Back in Anger" in 1998.
Breakthrough Role
Bloom's breakthrough role came in 2001 when he was cast as Legolas in the epic fantasy film "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." The film was a critical and commercial success, and Bloom's performance as the skilled archer earned him international recognition. He reprised the role in the sequels "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" (2002) and "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" (2003).

Bloom married Australian model Miranda Kerr in 2010. They had one son, Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, before divorcing in 2013. Bloom has been in a relationship with singer Katy Perry since 2016. They have one daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
Bloom is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and has worked to raise awareness of children's rights and issues.
