Amari Allen, 5-Star Wisconsin Recruit, to Visit Gophers on Thursday

A Gopher State Pipeline

Top 100 recruit Amari Allen will tour the University of Minnesota this Thursday. The Wisconsin native is considering several Big Ten schools, including four other in-state programs. Still, Minnesota seems to be a top candidate for the 5-star shooting guard out of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Allen's Accolades and Skills

Coming out of Central High School, Allen is a 6'6" shooting guard, ranked as the top player in Wisconsin. The 5-star recruit is considered one of the best shooters in the nation, currently averaging 25 points per game. Allen is also an accomplished football player, having helped lead his team to win a state championship.

Gophers' Pitch to Allen

The Gophers coaching staff has targeted Allen as the cornerstone of their future recruiting efforts, highlighting the opportunity to play close to home and bring a Big Ten championship to the state of Minnesota. Allen would join a young and talented Gophers team that already features several highly regarded freshmen and sophomores.

A Decision Soon?

While Allen has not yet announced a commitment date, sources say that he could make his decision by the end of the month. The Gophers will face an uphill battle against his home-state Badgers, but they are hoping to make a strong impression during this week's visit.
