Kyle Hightower, The Associated Press reported that during the 2024 Olympics held in Villeneuve d’ASCQ, Lille, France, Team USA rose above Serbia with Kevin Durant kicking off the game from the bench. Serbia was quick to respond with back-to-back threes from Vasilije Micic and Aleksej Pokusevski, gaining an early lead.
Team USA quickly caught up, ending the first quarter with a 3-point lead. In the second quarter, Serbia regained the lead, outscoring Team USA 32-25. Nikola Jokic led Serbia with 20 points in the half, while Jayson Tatum led Team USA with 15 points.
