Early Career and Draft
Alex Galchenyuk was drafted third overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four seasons with the Canadiens, recording 144 points in 287 games.
NHL Journey
After leaving Montreal, Galchenyuk has played for the Arizona Coyotes, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Ottawa Senators, and now the Colorado Avalanche. He has consistently been a productive offensive player, averaging over 20 goals per season.
In 2019, Galchenyuk signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract with the Wild. The following season, he inked a three-year, $9.675 million deal with the Canadiens. He became a free agent in the summer of 2023 and signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Avalanche.
